Custom binders have proven a great way for businesses to not only organize paperwork of all kinds, but display their company branding in a way that impresses clients, as well as for those who are not branding, but need custom binders for a particular application (such as for emergency procedure books for all your departments and branches). WHAT I LOVE:
For one, I love how many options our production team can offer. They have a huge variety of different equipment that allows for custom binder making in lots of different materials, sizes, and decoration options. We can make basic vinyl binders, flexible poly plastic binders, environmentally friendly chip board or paperboard binders, premium turned edge binders, and even wooden or metal binders too.

In addition to the material options, printing can be applied in a variety of different methods to achieve really cool finished binders. Probably my favorite binder we ever made is this one, which is on a 35 gauge poly and has a clear gloss print to create the motorcycle design, with a white print for the logo. Isn’t it beautiful?!?! I am also a fan of a semi-translucent poly binder with printing, especially like this one with gray printing that creates a really clean and minimalistic look. This Pepsi binder is pretty cool too, customized with no printing, just a snap closure and 6-ring mechanism. Ok, ok, you got me… custom poly binders are my favorite (the poly comes in a semi clear white, as well as tinted colors too ❤)…I just can’t help myself!

And the sizes available are vast! We can do standard sizes, like letter size, half size, legal size, and tabloid size, or we can even make unique sized ring binders of many kinds, such as these bookkeeping ledgers that have a unique 9” x 6”, 4-ring mechanism that we order special from overseas. We have the resources and contacts to be able to get you almost anything to make a ring binder that is perfect for exactly you.

Moving on; these total bad “donkey” metal binders are awesome for hardware and manufacturing companies, and these turned edge binders make a great addition to beauty or hair salons. Turned edge ring binders are actually growing quite a bit in popularity, because they offer a large variety of material options that are wrapped around a hard chip board, creating an upscale look. So you can wrap them in linen, durable vinyls, or even submit your own material to us for wrapping. We have made turned edge binders for real estate companies quite a bit, as well as for home decorating businesses with a particular clientele. But guys, I am not done talking about why I love working for Binding101 and seeing all of the production samples that come in from our custom jobs…they are always made to the highest quality standards, and if there is ever a hiccup, I see my customer service staff and managers work directly with our production staff to resolve the issues quickly and effectively. And as one of the people who helped train many of our sales and customer care team members (in addition to our amazing boss-lady), I am super proud to say that their courteousness and professionalism is always on point. If they are ever unsure if we can do a particular customization, they won’t hesitate to contact production to determine if they have the capability. But based on the variety mentioned above, it is pretty rare that we cannot accommodate your exact needs, or find a good alternative solution.

Ok, I think I have written enough good stuff…let’s move onto the things you should consider before you buy custom binders from us.
 

THINGS TO CONSIDER:
The main factor when considering whether or not to buy custom ring binders from Binding101 is usually the minimum order requirement. We often get complimented on the unit pricing, especially for high quantities, however, we are only able to be so competitive with prices because we have minimum order requirements, unlike some other online companies. Now, this minimum does vary depending on the type of binder and customization you need, but in general it starts at 50 pieces for vinyl and turned edge binders, 100 for poly binders, and 250 for eco-friendly binders. Other more unique options, such as the metal binders, those requiring special order parts from overseas, or those printed with certain printing processes may have higher minimums that will vary. Because there are so many factors that we have to consider before setting a minimum, I recommend you have the specs and desired quantity you would like handy, and then call our sales team at (866)537-2244 to request a quote and minimum. They will do their best to meet your desired quantity, and if it ends up not meeting that requirement, will quote you the lowest possible so that you can at least have that as an option.

It is also important to keep in mind that we do not have an artwork creating department that will build you logos or designs, or convert them to the proper printing formats. We are simply the production team that will get your own design printed onto the binders in a beautiful way. We also can’t work with small jpg files that were copy/pasted from a website…we need high quality artwork/designs in the proper file form in order to produce the quality custom binders that we do. Before you request a quote or buy, take some time to review our artwork requirements to learn about the file types that we need, as well as minimum resolutions for a clear print, and more important details. If you need help understanding any of the information, call our sales staff and they can help explain it for you. “What is a vector?” is probably the most common question we have regarding artwork…and this basically means that when you type text into your program (such as Photoshop or Illustrator) it is an editable text layer. In order to use the file and prevent the text from changing when it is transferred to us (it can change if we don’t have the exact same font in our system) this needs to be converted into “outlines” or otherwise made into a vector.

And lastly, remember that these are custom binders, meaning they are made to your exact specifications, and to-order. We do not have binder blanks that we can just stamp a design on, we actually have to make the binder from scratch, starting with the “bones” and use different printing processes, depending on the desired look. This means that there is a production time required for custom made binders. This time frame will vary depending on the type of binder, the material availability, the customization type itself, and many other factors that cannot be pre-determined without knowing your binder request. Sometimes we can make custom binders in as little as 5 business days, but sometimes it takes 4 months when items need to be special ordered. The best average for our most common orders is approximately 10-15 business days. But as mentioned before, the best way to get an accurate production time for your specific request is to request a quote from our custom binder sales experts at (866)537-2244 (be sure to ask for a production time at the time of the quote request). These quoted production times are always approximations, because until the order is actually placed, it cannot be entered into our production schedule, but they will at least give you an idea of what to expect if you do decide to place an order.
