It is better to have a slightly too-large spine than a too-small spine. A cover that is too small for your pages will not allow full glue application, so the pages will not be as secured and might fall out.
No, Coverbind covers are not compatible with Unibind machines. They use steel plates that are heated when they come into contact with Unibind steel spines. Coverbind covers do not have a steel spine and, therefore, will not turn on the machines.
The smallest cover we can make is 6 ¾" H x 6" W, with the binding spine on the 6 ¾" edge.
